And it's true that first draft of blog comments suck too, because I just came back on here to see if my post went through earlier and noticed two things - first of all, I've never thought of myself as a handsome man in a suit before. I'm not sure it works . . . And secondly, I noticed that I said I would watch your video "over" day, when I in fact meant to say I would watch it /every/ day! So there you go. :o)

Maureen, I just wanted to thank you for this video! I've heard this concept before lots of times, but the way you put it really struck me. I've been working on my "first draft" of my first novel for over a decade, and I can't finish it because I'm so worried that it sucks! I keep re-writing the beginning, and switching to try writing other books, of which I have 1/2 dozen in various stages of completeness (and various levels of suckness) but I get so hung up on how bad they suck - and how much they are NOT the great American novel - that I can't finish. I think I'm going to watch your video over day before I start writing to remind myself that it's okay for your first draft to suck!! :o)
